They only charged me 1/2 hr labor to run down electrical switch problem and change it out after part arrived. Part was same price as other discount sites. Also I dropped it off at 8:30am they had part delivered by 2pm same day. Picked my truck up an hour later. Less than $100. Owners are in the shop!!

Shout out to these guys. Awesome work and great service. Was having trouble with our Jeep Wrangler shifting from 1st to 2nd gear. Was told by another mechanic that we needed a new transmission. Went to Cookeville Transmission for another opinion. Was told all we needed was a new solenoid pack for transmission. These guys saved us over $2000.00. First off, I have to start out by saying that their service is second to none! My story goes like this I was on my way to Cookeville to pick up a car that I was buying to bring home to fix, so I had my trailer with me, coming from Columbia TN. 2 hours away from home, and shortly after business hours I made the call to Cookeville Transmission Co. because I had broken down not far from them. When they answered the phone, I received nothing but kindness and he even offered to come tow my trailer to his shop and recommended me a towing service. They were quick to inform me of what was going on with my truck while it was in their care. To my surprise, when I picked up my vehicle from them today it was not only done but done with extra care as they inspected other things on the vehicle as well including my oil and wheel bearings and informing me that they were bad as well which makes a customer feel good knowing that they take the time to check every detail. Money well spent and I would drive the 2 hours it is from my home to let them rebuild another transmission down the road!

I bought a new to me 2012 Silverado and with all the known issues of transmission problems. I wanted to make sure that the transfer case and transmission had been serviced and inspected Tony had me bring in the truck in for a ride along inspection to personally see and feel my concerns, I was advised to try a tune up first and see if that might fix some of the lack of power I was feeling. I was sent on my way and told to contact them if the issue was still there. I performed the tuneup myself as I’m sort of tool and mechanics savvy and it seems to have fixed the issue (make sure to perform regular schedule maintenance on your vehicles) 😉 I returned to let them know their advice seemed to be the fix to my issues but I still wanted to have the transmission and transfer case service done, I was quickly added to their schedule and was serviced same day of appointment. Most shops these days won’t give you the time of day with your concerns let alone not charge you for free advice and time spent in a ride along inspection but Tony and the crew at Cookeville transmission met all my needs and did it with a smile they even offered me a ride home if I hadn’t had my father in law to pick me up. Long story short is you won’t be disappointed with them or their services and I would consider them to be a top notch local business. As far as what others mentioned about the 3% credit card use fee we all need to understand something…. credit card companies are charging the business this fee and it is merely being passed along to the customer as is with all of this inflation…. they have no control over this charge and offer credit card payment only as a convenience….. you probably spent 3% on a cup of coffee at Starbucks so be thankful for the convenience of being able to use the card or just pay cash if you can. If your using a card your more than likely paying the issuing bank 9.9-29.9% just in interest what’s 3% ? I hope everyone finds this review helpful and can understand that small local family businesses don’t run on hopes and dreams and these guys are more than fair on their pricing.

I bumped into somebody in Cookeville, which pinched my transmission lines, causing fluid to leak everywhere. I got my truck towed to Cookeville transmission and they were able to take care of it in less than 24 hours despite having to special order a part in from Nashville on Xpress delivery and get me back on the road again for a very fair price in my opinion. They were even nice enough to drive me back-and-forth to my hotel room with my stuff. Thanks guys!

Honest mechanics are few and far between. Very hard to find. Brought in my F150 with 129,000 miles for a transmission flush service. I had purchased this truck a year ago and had no clue whether or not a transmission service had ever been done, or how long the last service was completed, if one was completed at all. They gave me the price quote which was fair. Two hours later I received a call. Rob said he was calling to save me money. Reported that the fluid looked great and my transmission was in excellent shape. Said I had bought a nice used truck. Proceeded to tell me that a full flush wasn’t necessary because how great the existing fluid was, just a drain and refill what they could would do. That resulted in me saving around $150 off the original quote. Unbelievable. They didn’t have to do that. Rick and Rob are awesome and very trustworthy. When I praised them when picking up my truck Rick said, “I look at every car as if it was my daughter’s or my own”. So very cool. I will definitely return next time something is needed. No wonder they’ve been in business for 50 something years. Good on you Cookeville Transmission!

Unfortunately, my class B camper’s transmission developed problems on I-40 westbound, just outside Cookeville, TN, on a Sunday. I was able to limp to this transmission shop to spend the night in their parking lot. They were highly recommended to us by one of the 24 hour RV repair businesses I called first. Monday morning Rick, the owner, greeted me first thing in the morning. He road tested, then diagnosed the problem, and Rob was able to order a replacement transmission by the end of the week. Rick and Rob, had us back on the road in no time to continue on our trip. They recommended me getting a Jasper transmission since I was an out of towner and traveling in a RV. This transmission comes with a 36 month or 100,000 mile warranty which would be honored by any transmission dealer in the United States who deals with Jasper transmissions. Very considerate and professional transmission business. Yes, a bummer that the transmission died, but I am blessed it happened near Cookeville, TN. Thank you guys very much for a positive experience.
